Best Vinted niches 2026: the 10 categories that actually pay

Publié le April 14, 2026 · 6 min de lecture

The 2026 Vinted market looks nothing like the 2022 version. Basic fast fashion is saturated to the bone, buyers are turning away from Shein and Temu even in secondhand, and search has shifted toward pieces with strong identity: vintage designer, Y2K tech fleece, technical gorpcore. That's exactly where reseller margins have been rebuilt.

How I selected these niches

Three criteria, not one more:

The niches below tick all three boxes in April 2026. Price ranges come from direct observations on Vinted France, not marketing estimates.

1. Y2K streetwear

The Y2K moment has gone from TikTok trend to structural category. Buyers aged 18 to 28 look for baggy, early-2000s Nike tech fleece, Juicy Couture terry cloth, vintage Adidas sets. Supply stays fragmented because thrift stores sort these pieces poorly.

2. Vintage designer 90s

The most solid niche on the market. Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior saddle, Versace Medusa, Helmut Lang: these names sell on the label reading alone. Demand is international, buyers feed queries in English and Italian.

3. Gorpcore and technical outdoor

Arc'teryx, Salomon XT-6, Patagonia Retro-X, Nike ACG, The North Face Summit Series. The gorpcore trend has mutated: we're no longer in hiking cosplay, we're in premium technical gear worn in the city year-round.

4. Selvedge denim and vintage Levi's 501 LVC

Vintage denim is serious again. Pre-1998 501 Made in USA, LVC reissues, Japanese selvedge Momotaro or Oni: the community knows details down to the millimetre. It's technical, therefore profitable.

5. Discontinued sneakers

Discontinued models or limited allocations: Dunk low panda, Samba OG, New Balance 550 white green, residual Travis Scotts, post-Adidas Yeezys. Vinted resale has taken a serious share from StockX on common sizes.

6. Tennis and preppy

Ralph Lauren big pony polos, limited edition Lacoste black croc, vintage Fila jumpers, 80s tennis pleated skirts. The preppy niche has been climbing over 12 months, carried by an unapologetic aesthetic comeback.

7. Vintage affordable luxury bags

Not the 8,000 EUR Hermès, but the tier just below: leather Longchamp Pliage, pre-2005 Coach Willis, Mulberry Bayswater, 90s Le Tanneur, Lancel premier flirt. Female buyers aged 25-40 trade between premium new and accessible vintage.

8. American workwear

Carhartt Detroit Jacket, Dickies 874, Filson Mackinaw, Red Wing Iron Ranger, Wrangler Wrancher. The niche gained depth once Japanese-inspired workwear (Kapital, Orslow) pulled the whole category upward.

9. Anime and Japan-inspired

90s Bootleg vintage Pokémon tees, One Piece Shonen Jump, original Ghibli merchandising, rare Dragon Ball sweatshirts. Demand is driven by 20-35 year olds who grew up with these licenses and pay well for authenticated period pieces.

10. Vintage accessories

90s Oakley M-Frame sunglasses, Diesel big-buckle belts, analog Casio and Seiko watches, chunky silver jewellery, branded bandanas. These are basket-booster pieces: low volume, strong margin.

Niches to avoid in 2026

Three zones to avoid, no nuance:

If you're unsure about a piece, apply the test: would someone type this brand associated with a style into the Vinted search bar? If no, move on.

How to spot the next niche

Niches shift. What's hot in April 2026 will be lukewarm in October, and a weak signal today can explode in six months. The only reliable method is continuous monitoring: watch search volumes, median prices per category, and favourite movements on comparable pieces, week after week.

That's exactly the work Nichify automates for resellers who don't want to do it by hand.
